My father’s belt was a 2" inch tanned cow hide strap with a silver nickel buckle. This belt was used to hold up his pants and also as corporal punishment for disobedience or disrespect for my seven brothers and sisters. We all had frequents meeting with this cowhide on our hides to keep all of us in line. However, the new 21th century parents with the timeout corners and rewards for listening, have retired these leather belts to vintage shops for a couple of dollars. One mans trash as become London’s company Ting treasure.
Ting gave these retired belts there next phase of life- flooring. They re-purpose them by staining and lining them to resemble floorboards. Genius! Ive seen leather tile on the floor but leather belts, the etching alone gives these panels a rich vintage decorative luxurious quality that is recyclable. Not only are they shown on the floor but also used as wainscoting on the wall and doors. It brings a masculine menswear styling to flooring. I don’t have anymore adjective to describe it. Just note, that Ting just changed my childhood memory from a leather punishment to a flooring reward. Sweet, check them out. See specs below….
